The Wild Animal Park in San Diego had free admission on Wednesday, it was a special for "Founders Day". Anyway, it was pretty cool and Dean loved it. (for those who don't know) -It's a place where you're able to see animals, mainly from Africa, in their natural habitat so you can see the way they would naturally act or do things as opposed to animals at the zoo. The biggest hit for Dean were the lions, cheetahs, giraffes and elephants.

This n' that
We're in Ensenada, Mexico!! -- visiting with the wonderful people in the home here and getting to hang out with some of my wonderful family as well. They have a gorgeous house...spacious, overlooking the beach, big yard and grounds for kids....just perfect!! Last night we had fish tacos, guacamole, salsa and chips and beer...YUM! We're enjoying ourselves immensely.
On to an extremely different topic...ever since I've been back people have been telling me how big Dean is "he looks like he could be three", and the big question of the day has been "how much does he weigh?" to which I respond sheepishly..."last time I weighed him he was a year old, but he's probably around 35 pounds, maybe less". Hmm! So anyway, yesterday I weighed him (woohoo) and he is a whopping 42 pounder (19 kilos)....yup, I always knew he was a heavy child but WOW...so now I don't feel so bad when I feel like I just can't possible carry him another minute or when the thought of picking him up sends back breaking waves through my body. Marco on the other hand has been going to the gym almost everyday, bulking up his muscles and getting in his resistance training exercises, and Dean is getting lighter and lighter by the day for him. So PTL, God works in mysterious ways!! That's it on this rambling post of mine..... hee.

Paperwork
Well since coming back to the States it's been appointment after appointment for us. There's been so much to fill out, sign up for and get registered for before baby comes along. I have to buy a new folder just for paperwork. Arg! I don't exactly have that much time till she comes and I'm not anywhere near as prepared as I would like to be. Today we took the first step though and got setup at UCSD where I am hoping to have the baby, it was nice relief to get all those initial prenatal checks, prods and pokes out of the way. On Thursday I go in for a sonogram and maybe will get baby's first picture taken as well. Anyhoo, that's the update on the why's and wherefore's of our absence. I should have lots of baby updates coming up as the days and checkups proceed...so if you're interested...keep checking.
